Wednesday, June 6, 2018

It's summer concert time!!!! What are you going to wear?! Here is some inspiration of what to wear to a concert! Are you going to any concerts this summer? Let me know below!
I really wanted to go to Luke Bryan but I think I'm too late to buy tickets! That and Taylor Swift!

Shopping List!

Country Concert
Loving country music at the moment! My favorites are Luke Bryan, Lauren Alaina, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown, and ovi Carrie Underwood! This outfit would be very cute to Taylor Swift too! Just sayin!

Club Concert
As in concerts that are in clubs like The House of Blues! I saw Iggy Azalea there my Sophomore year and she was amazing!!!

Radio Concert
I love going to radio concerts because there are always more than one person preforming! I love going to Kiss Concerts! They are so much fun and always have the best people!

Summer Dress Trends

Monday, May 15, 2017

I don't know about you dolls but I am so ready for summer!!!!! The weather here has been less than desirable but that isn't going to bring me down! I'm teaming up with Tobi to bring you my favorite summer dress styles! I'm always wearing dresses for the summer since I can't wear shorts to work and well...I just really love dresses!

The first rose pink dress is one of my faves! I love wearing flowy dresses that aren't too fitting to hide my hips. I have bigger hips and although I love my body sometimes my hips can overtake it. One of my favorite summer trends is the bell sleeve! This dress has all my favorite!!!

The second dress is perfect for parties, going out with friends, and a date during the daytime! I love anything off the shoulder and it's a big trend for summer 2017! I have seen nothing but off the shoulder tops, dresses, rompers, everything! I also love this dress because you can also wear jeans or leggings with it. It's a little on the shorter side if you are over 5'9'' like me. But nothing like a nude pair of biker shorts or spanx of help with that problem!

Lastly, we have the wrap dress! I'm in love with this print so much! They have a matching set in this too and I'm totally obsessed with it! This dress is once again perfect for all summer occasions! The material of this dress is very luxurious too! Like I would feel comfortable not wearing a slip and just nude undergarments. But yes! Once again obsessed with this print!

I'm so happy to be putting up more fashion post again! It's been a long time since I have. I almost forgot how much I love doing this! My blogaversity is coming up in July and can you believe it will be 7 years!!!!! I started in 2010 on a different blog called Style It In Heels! I changed blogs because I didn't wear heels a lot and I felt weird having the name after that haha! I don't know why I didn't just change the name of it...I completely switch over blogs....I'm so indecisive...anyway! Let me know what your favorite dress style is for summer!!!

Menswear Project

Thursday, May 14, 2015

Well it's finally done! My menswear jacket is complete and I couldn't be happier. For this project we had to make an outfit for well...for men. It could be inspired by anything, finally no requirements! What a process! I have never made anything for men before but I always thought I would want to expand my market to menswear and womenswear. I really wanted to make this jacket perfect too because my previous things were just okay. Nothing special but nothing amazing. I looked at menswear clothing in stores to see how they put everything together, went and bought a pair of pants only to deconstruct them and take them apart, and piece by piece everything started to fall into place. I really love how it came out and I've been getting nothing but great feedback from everyone which makes me happy to actually believe in myself for once.

The jacket is a modern take on a trench coat. The hood is attachable so if you want to you could take it off and just have a high collar or keep it on. I lined it with camo lining and added a belt to it. I also made jeans to go with them but not classic jeans. More of a chino jean. Chino style but in denim fabric.

Let me know what you think of the jacket! I can't wait to see it in the fashion show!

Black && Blue.

Shirt : American Eagle (similar) | Pants : New York & Company (similar) | Shoes : Sperry (similar) | Purse : Michael Kors (similar) | Necklace : J. Crew (similar) | Ring : Pandora

I recently just got a job! Finally! I didn't have one all summer but since I'm commuting to school this semester I thought it would be a good idea to get one. I don't want to say where I work but I will say it's a whalllleee of a time! This is what I wore to orientation. Since I don't own anything from the store (YET!) I wanted to wear something that looked like it was from the store so that's why I wore this! Now that I look at the store I'm pretty sure they don't sell black clothing which is fine for me but half my closet it filled with black clothing...#FashionDesignMajorProbs

Finding The Perfect Fashion Week Outfit

Monday, September 8, 2014

Can you smell that? Ahhhhhh... Fashion Week is in the air!!!! With FW going on I couldn't help but DREAM about being there. Also of course...WHAT I WOULD WEAR! I feel like that will be one of my Top 10 Most Stressful Life Moment on deciding what to wear to fashion week. People plan weeks ahead on what they are going to wear. Some even going as far to hire stylist to help them choose their outfits (cough cough! Call me! *winks*). But...you ask me? What would I wear to FW? It would have to go something like this....

(PIC)

My first pick for what I would wear to fashion week is OF COURSE...the Carrie moment. Can I please just have my Carrie moment! This skirt! Maybe not this shirt...but those shoes...yes! I need my Carrie moment in life and I will have my Carrie moment one day I just know it! The skirt is is in at the moment. We've seen Sarah Hyland wear it and it's all over the runway! I need to make one asap pretty much...

                                                                    (PIC)                                                                                 (PIC)

OR! Maybe I'll go all Olivia Palermo business chic?! Super cute right! I feel like I want every outfit of hers in my closet...right now...(wait two seconds please...can I just say how excited I am that she's still relevant to today's universe! I LOVED her on The City and I'm still obsessed today! She's still wicked stylish and has amazing taste in clothes!) She can be edgy chic or powerful business women! I love how she pair the large belt with the blue pencil skirt. Also how she draped the studded leather jacket over her shoulders instead of wearing it. She's already photo ready! Take note!

(PIC)

ALSO! I could go all Olsen Twins on everyone and wear all black with my huge sunglass ON while watching the fashion show, duh...still chic but a bold move wearing sunglasses in a show...I feel like you need to be really important or Anna Wintour, who's obviously the most important person in fashion...she's just proving my point.

(PIC)

POSSIBLY maybe even Victoria Justice style? This would be most practical for me. I would totally wear this even as an everyday outfit! Victoria has great style! I'm so happy to see her at fashion week! Her outfit has very cool texture to it as well!

(PIC)

BUT! Let's be serious....I'm showing up to Fashion Week with this shirt! "It's Getting Haute In Here" Sparkles! Haute! LOVE! I need this shirt...like now...

So if I could take the sequined skirt, Carrie's skirt, Olivia's purse, Victoria attitude and the Olsen Twin's sunglasses I pretty much have THE PERFECT fashion week outfit!

(PIC)

PS...Look at this picture! How perfect is this scene! Anna, David, Brooklyn, Grace! AMAZING!

Tell me below in the comments what you would wear to fashion week! Or Tweet me @ElizzabethHope with pictures!!!!

HAPPY FASHION WEEK!!!!

The end of an era...The Clique Books.

Sunday, July 20, 2014

After years and years of reading The Clique books I have finally finished the whole series! Now your probably wondering...Lizz your 20 and going to be a junior in college...why are you just finishing this now?! Well, good question! I started reading the series my freshmen year of high school (I believe...It might had been 8th or 7th grade...? I honestly forget) The last book came out Feb. 2011 and I started reading it I think not until 2012 which was my senior year of high school. I would read sections of it everyday until I got to the middle of the book. I didn't want the series to end so I put off reading it until the summer of my freshman year of college was over. I read some more and stopped again at a good place. It wasn't until tonight that I had the courage of reading the last couple of chapters of the series and finish what I started as a worried freshman that didn't know what was going to happen in her high school years.
These books weren't just a book. They taught me so much. About friendship, fashion, different situations I'd be put in during school. Everything I almost needed to know were in these books. I looked up to Massie so much as a kid. So much I wanted to be her. But I was too nice of a person to insult people and act meaner towards them (I was more of a Claire wanting to be like Massie). But that wasn't just what Massie did. I admired her confidence even though she wasn't totally confident all the time. I admired her fashion sense and how she'd help her friends. I wanted to be that Massie. Someone people looked up to and saw as a someone who was cool and not dorky and shy. People would tease me about not swearing as a high schooler and middle schooler (which I didn't see as much as a problem as the people who pointed it out). There was one person who always seemed to want to bring me down but I didn't let them get to me because that was what Massie did. She would keep her cool until she got home and then talked about it with Bean. She wouldn't let people get to her and same with Cuh-laire! I admired both of them for that and brought it in myself to do the same.
The books showed me a whole new world and how nothing really changes once you leave high school and go into college. I'm sure the same goes for college into the real world as well. Lisi did base these books on when she worked at MTV!
It may sound silly but the Clique books really helped me through my teenage years. I don't care if people make fun of me for saying this or make fun of me saying that I wanted to be just like Massie Block and have BFF's just like her's because I know inside they wanted the same. It was addicting. Everyone wanted to be Massie and her Pretty Committee at some point in their lives and if you don't say yes then you are lying! I made a Polyvore with outfits for events that the PC would wear whether it was an OCD dance or meeting a celebrity on Mrs. Marvil's TV show! I would spend HOURS on that website blah-ging about what the girls were doing trying to keep the PC alive still. It showed me how much I love fashion and styling people which continued to my life today! Going to school for fashion design and styling for my school's magazine! Those little details of what the girls were wearing that Lisi included made more of an impact then she probably thought. I learned about designer clothes and their significance to the world. How important designer everything was to some people and how department store buys were other people.
I just finished reading the last book and I couldn't help but cry. It really is an end of an era. The Pretty Committee will forever be in our hearts and inspire us in every way to be who we truly are. I want to thank my best friends for putting up with me/going along with me in telling them they were either Alicia, Kristen, Dylan or Cuh-laire. For my ah-mazing mother for also putting up with me through my teenage years. To my new best friends at college for reminding me that good things are to come. To the people who made the Pretty Committee alive and making a movie of the first Clique books...thank you!!! I've watched the movie at least 40 times and I kid you nawt! Wish you made it into a series...And to Lisi Harrison for helping me get through my challenging teenage years and creating a place I could run away to when things got tough! I will always frequent your blah-g for new adventures (every wednesday!)! I remember when you would put up little spoilers of chapters and I would be counting down the days for the books to go on shelves! Thank you for making reading fun for me! As someone who can't pick up just any book and read it through (I swear I have ADD...) you really made reading fun for me and inspired me to start writing myself! After 20 books and over 6 years of reading I can finally say I have some closure. I know designer clothes aren't everything in the world. I know being popular isn't everything you need to be in the world. And the Clique books have shown me that. I accept myself for who I am and who I'm becoming in the world. It's ok to like designer clothes even though you can't afford them and it's ok to look up to the popular girls who are nicer and learn lessons from the ones who aren't so nice.
Saying goodbye to fictional friends was hard but I'm happy with the ending. Even if I didn't want it to end. I hope to see Massie over in London next semester! *wink wink*

#OOTD Tribal Print

Monday, June 30, 2014

Hollister Jean Top (similar) | Forever 21 Skirt (similar) | PINK Bralette (similar) | J.Crew Bubble Necklace | Longchamp tote | Rebecca Minkoff Sandals (sold out) | Forever 21 Sunglasses and Earrings (old)

Tribal prints have always been one of my favorite trends, especially for summer. I've always had trouble with silhouettes working with my body. I'm more of a pear shape in the sense that my top is wayyyyy smaller than my bottom (aka the hips are big and don't lie!) But I do find that wearing "body con" skirts and dresses with a print (because my body isn't the greatest of shape right now and having solid colors would just show EVERYTHING) work best for my body. I can't always wear circle skirts like I want to because the booty has a mind of its own! Pretty much I can't wear them because they get really short in length and my butt looks huge when I wear them. But big in a not so flattering way...never the less! I love wearing this skirt because I can change the length from micro mini to ankle length!

Now, I ask you! Thoughts on printed skirts! Love it or leave it?!

DKNYJeans with Patches!

Monday, June 23, 2014

One thing I love about fashion is how history repeats itself. Although sometimes it can go horribly wrong (let's hope boys wearing their pants to their ankles never comes back!....oh, wait...it's still around...) never-the-less, like Mr. Timberlake sings what goes around comes around. Fashion is all about recycling! DKNY's new campaign with Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevingne, and A$AP Rocky, which I absolutely love all of them together and will talk about another time, shows Jourdan and Cara both in jeans/jean jacket with different patches on them! It's so 70's hippie but with a twist of 90s! I love it! In the picture to the right we can see Miss Dunn rocking the patchwork pants at a DKNY event. She styles them very simply with a white crop tank top and black heels. Perfect for the summer! This would be a perfect DIY project for the summer! I think I may have to try this out sometime soon! More deets later!

THOUGHTS?! Do you love this look or are you going to skip this trend this fall?
