Last Minute Lizz : 4th of July Edition!

Thursday, July 3, 2014

Well, I might be known for putting off things till the last minute (but really who is ALWAYS on time?). This is where Last Minute Lizz comes in for the win! An expect (*LOL not so much) guide to your last minute ideas! Today I'll be talking about last minute Forth of July ideas! Since tomorrow is the 4th and you were conveniently asked to go to your best friend or family BBQ but don't want to come empty handed here's a guide to last minute treats to make the night before or even the day of! OR!! Or are you the host and totally didn't get enough decorations to entertain your guest? Don't worry! I got you covered!

(PIC)

Pretzel + White Chocolate + M&Ms + Sparkles = Your best last minute treat!

I've made these cute treats so many times for parties and they are always a hit! Who doesn't love pretzels and chocolate! All you have to do is get square pretzels, white chocolate Hershey's, pick out the red M&Ms, and some blue sprinkles! Or blue M&M's and red sprinkles! Put the white chocolate on top of the pretzel...put them on a plate and into the microwave for about 20 seconds (really depends on how strong your micro is! Just until the top half melts!) Take them out and place a M&M on top with a few sprinkles! TaDa! Now, my tip would be to put them in the refrigerator for about a half hour/hour so that the white chocolate doesn't totally melt in this heat wave we've been having!
Have you ever tried these out?! If so let me know! :D

Ahhh...the strawberry dipped in chocolate! White Chocolate! So easy and a sure win at a party! All you need to do is melt down white chocolate chips, dip the strawberries into it and spring on blue sugar or sprinkles!

As you can or cannot tell white chocolate and sprinkles/sugar are a sure win-win products here!

Now for decorations!

A party trend/favorite at the moment would be these adorable printables! These are totally DIY material! Just go to your local crafts store or print them out from different websites! I know Etsy has a ton! You can tape them to straws, popsicle sticks, well any kind of sticks! For a backdrop put up the good old American Flag! Or get some stars to hang around, streamers, tie the ends of bandannas together! They are super fun and a cute way to remember the day! Don't forget to Instagram them later! *wink wink*

This has got to be my favorite last minute decoration idea! Magic flowers! Take a vase (or mason jars! Even cuter!) full them up with water and add red or blue food coloring to them. Buy some white carnations (or any white flowers) and watch the food color color the flowers!! At the end of the night let your guest take home a flower but tell them to put the opposite color and see what happens!

Well that's all I have for you today! Tell me your last minute 4th of July ideas or party ideas!!!

Wow! Can you believe October is over and we are in November! Only two more months till 2014! And they told us the world was going to end in 2012! Psh! Look how far we've come! October was just as stressful as September...well...added on stress...but I'm hoping to make these last two months the best of 2013! I know I haven't been blogging or making videos as often as before but I'm trying my best to fix that! Especially during the new school year!

Here's my latest video of my favorites throughout October!

DIY Halloween Costumes! Pinata and Kate Middleton!

Friday, November 1, 2013

Oh Halloween, my favorite time of the year! The one day that everyone can get dressed up and not be judged on the way they look. Unless you want to dress up as up like a hooker cat girl or a super hero...so many super heros...and minions!! But the minions where funny because theirs so many of them already!!! You may or may not get a couple of looks CATION!
For the first night of Halloween (a.k.a. the dance) I was a pinata! I found it on Pinterest last year and I was dying to try it out. I didn't know what exactly to be so I choose this. So I went to the party store, got some streamers, went to Forever 21 to buy a tank top and shorts and BAM! -well we are almost there to the pinata part-
First, you need some fabric glue from the store and scissors to fringe out the streamers to get that pinata look!! I took strips, cut them - glued them on, one by one and soon enough I had a pinata outfit! It only took from 7:30pm to 12am to finish! But I also got distracted by people and what not...dorm life *insert peace signs here*. Here's the finish look! I added a "tail" with this half tutu I found. Also a party hat and put streamers on it!

For my Halloween Night look I was the Kate Middleton! Accent, baby, and all!!!! I loved it! Really easy to do as well. I took Kate's iconic blue dress, put some pearls on, carried baby George around with me all night complaining that William left me alone all night. It was pretty funny I do have to say. Oh, and don't forget the crown!

So whether your getting "hit on" as a pinata or keeping it calm and carrying on as Kate Middleton never forget to keep your imagination open to new ideas. Yes, classics are classic but this is the new age! Get creative and go out on a lim to do something different! I'm thinking for Saturday night I'm going to be Audrey Hepburn in the rain scene of Breakfast at Tiffany's! Yelling CAT!! Where are you cat! all night!

What were you for Halloween this year?! Leave me comments below! I want to hear your ideas!!!

DIY : Body Wrap (Budget friendly!)

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Follow on Bloglovin
This week I've been trying so hard to be on a heath kick and try to get my body back into shape. I'm going to be starting back with my workouts, healthy eating and something new, yoga! Personally I really want to get back in shape so I can model again. It's so important to make connections in the fashion industry and with working with designers side by side while modeling I'll get an instant in. So when I'm out of college and looking for a job to start out I can work with them, hopefully!

I was looking through Pinterest the other day I came across a pin called body wraps. I know from watching Red Carpet reports that celebrities do body wraps before premiers to get rid of excess body weight/water. I figured I try it out!

This was very wallet friendly and I had everything in my house already!

Things you need...
-lotion (it's said to use one with ingredient from the ocean. So things like kelp, seaweed is a big one, and mud) I used one from The Body Shop! I love their products because they are paraben free! All natural! So your taking away bad toxins in your body and still are by using an all natural lotion.
-Plastic Wrap
-Ace Bandages

Step 1!
Gently rub lotion on your "problem area". Today's target...the stomach. Don't rub it in all the way!!!

Step 2!
Wrap the plastic wrap around your body. Don't wrap it tight!!! You wont be able to breath if you do that!

Step 3!
Wrap the ace bandage around your body. You want to make sure you wrap it tight enough for it to stay but loose enough to breath!!!!

Alright! Now your ready to go to sleep!! In the morning unwrap yourself and see the results!!! You have to remember that your body nautally releases unwanted gasses from your body when your asleep so that helps as well!

Here are my results! I did it two days in a row to see if it made a difference!

As you can see day 2 I gained back the weight but lose even more. It's not going to help you drop weight like flies but it if you have an event or going to the beach and want to look good for the summer without having to workout (the lazy way!) I'd definitely suggest trying it out!!! If you do let me know! Tweet at me! @ElizzabethHope

8. Cotton Dresses are a great way to look chic but stay cool in the summer time! The fabric isn't going to cling to you like a chiffon dress would!
Dress - Urban Outfitters

9. Hats, oh hats!!! I love wearing hats! Sometimes it's harder to wear hats with curly hair because you have to pull it back but when I get the chance to I go for it! They will keep shade off your face so you won't get the rudolph red nose from the sun!
Hat - from Target!

10. Detailed Tops are always a key way to making a look go from boring to spectacular! I made this shirt myself the other day from a pattern I found at Joann's fabrics.
Shirt - DIY!

11. Denim Shorts are always a must have for summer and even spring! Jeans are my favorite because you can dress them up or dress them down! Defiantly a summer staple!

12. Shoes...Shoes...Shoes! What would a girl do without her shoes! My summer shoes are the thong sandals! And I can't forget about my boat shoes! Gotta love them!
