New Year Resolutions!

Every year I try to make New Year Resolutions but always tend to forget about them...this year I'm going to make more and hopefully stick to it! It's something to keep me going and inspire me for the new year!

1. SEW MORE!!! I'm a fashion design major and sewing is a ovs a huge part in my major - Sewwww (see what I did there! Soooo Sewwww! fashion jokes!) I want to keep on sewing and make myself clothes!

2. Wear colored lipstick more often. As in reds, plums, purples (I know purple? Huh! I have some pretty purples!), and so on!

3. Get my hips to a 36! I need to get my hips down to a 36 so I can model again! I also want to lose a few pounds. College is taking it's toll on snacking at my worst!

4. Find my style! I have so many different types of styles I can never choose. But I'm hoping to finally find my own style and buy new clothes!

5. Work on my shoe collection and wear them!! I really want to start wearing heels more often! I also want to buy more shoes/heels to expand my collection because I'm crazy! We all knew that...

6. Finish the Divergent book by March! I'm reading the book Divergent and the movie comes out in March! I'm such a slow reader but I really want to finish the book before the movie comes out!

7. Work on my blog!!! Keep blogging and DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME ALL YEAR!!! I just saw that I've changed the name of my blog 3 times this year....I went from Girl Meets Fashion to Life According To Lizz to The Uptown Girl....soooo....we are staying Uptown Girl for now on!!!

8. Be more positive. Some people think of my as a judgmental person which is TOTALLY NOT TRUE! I don't know why they think that and it's made me very upset about myself. Staying positive has helped me get through really hard times this year.

9. Be organized! I want to start being more organized in my life because everythings always a mess!

10. Simple...be happy

New Years!!!

3......2.....1!!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!! (Que the kisses at midnight!!!! and for all who are single...bring on the drinks!) I probably say this every New Years but OH GAWD this year went by so fast! Life needs to slow down!!! I haven't accomplished all I need to! - well that and  I found I'm getting ridiculously lazy....that needs to stop for 2014! Now, if I was to go shopping on New Years day - which you know I'll probably be doing - this is something I'd wear. Something quick to change out of just in case I want to try something on and a small over-the-shoulder bag which is in my shopping purse essentials!

The look is for the party! If I had a fabulous party to attend! The shoes are Miu Miu and totally ah-mazing! I need them in my life like now! Of course I'd be wearing a red dress because red is my favorite color and I went for a statement necklace instead of big earrings (I'm just getting used to big statement earrings...I think they are starting to make a comeback!)

Merry Christmas + The Uptown Girl!

Tis the season to be jolly! As they say this time of year! And tis the season to change things up! Of course...but Cheers to a new year and a new me!!! Now...I introduce you to...The Uptown Girl!!!! The name has been in my head forever now and well...here it is!
Well your probably wondering...who is The Uptown Girl?
She's basically my alter ego but me? Does that make sense? I'm going to have fashion, beauty, and life advice here on The Uptown Girl. So follow along with me and The Uptown Girl through life, love, and the pursuit of happiness. Jk, but life yes!
I also changed my blog template! How do you like! New and improved for the new year!

Tips of setting goals and keeping them!

Setting goals is easier said then done! But here are my tips on achieving your goals! My goal right now is getting my hips down to 36 inches so I can go to New York to model! Crazy I know but i'm crazy so it makes sense :P

1. Goal board!! I recently made a goal board on my wall in my bedroom. Right next to my door so whenever I leave I can see it and get motivated!

2. Watch videos of what your goals are! My recent goal is becoming a model and losing 5 inches off my hips. I've been non-stop watching model videos of interviews from backstage of Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, and so many more! I've got to see what they do backstage and it's really encouraging me to stay to my goals!!!!

3. Focus on what matters! What does this goal mean to you and why do you want to do it!

4. Set a timeline for this goal if needed. I'm trying to get my hips down to a 36 by the first week in April!

5. Do something everyday to achieve this goal! For me I've been eating heathy and working out! Trying to get to the gym every day for at least a 30 mins on the treadmill!

6. Visualize everyday what the outcome of this goal will be!!! For me it's becoming a top model and going to New York, London, Paris, and Milan for runway shows and to do amazing beautiful editorials for major magazines!

7. It's good to have long time goals but also have short time goals!! Don't forget to reward yourself for them! I'm not allowing myself to buy anything major till I start shedding the hip weight! When I get to a 38 I'm buying myself a new pair of heels...I'm obsessed with shoes...

8. TAKE ACTION! Go out and achieve your goals now!!! Make a plan and go!!! Gogogogogo!!! Woo!

So don't forget to be a goal digger ;) Do it!
