Stay Positive. Keep Going.

Monday, July 27, 2015

Staying healthy and fit has always been a lifestyle choice for me. I always try to stay fit and eat clean but it doesn't always happen. Now that I'm 21 years old I realize how difficult it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I'm not that 17 year old who played volleyball and tennis and worked out on top of that. I now know how America is so overweight! Working a 9-5 job 5 days a week and a night job on Saturdays is tough! I try to eat clean but sometimes that one person in the office brings chocolate peanut butter fudge brownies and tell yourself not to eat them! Sometime you have to indulge even if it's half a brownie instead of a full block!!

Keeping weight off as an adult is tough when your working all the time and having a life. When I'm at school I'm completely focused! I go to the gym practically everyday, eat healthier, and stay motivated. But for some reason when I try to do this at home it's harder. Probably because of my nana's cooking...but in my defense I've been doing really good!! I workout even if it's at 10 o'clock at night! I take the stairs walking to my internship everyday! But sometimes cookies come to play...mostly gluten free options but still...I try every day to keep up with everything. I wish I had more time to spend on working at my best self but sometimes you just have to make due with what you got.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is yes it's hard to workout and stay healthy. It's a lifestyle change! It will be worth the wait! You have to be patient! That coming from the girl who can't wait for anything!!! Believe me when I say when your time comes and you know you want a lifestyle change good things will happen. Keep going! You can do it!!! Stay Positive!

How To Keep Your Skin and Hair Beautiful During Winter!

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Since it is snowing right now and the air is dry I thought I'd give you my secret tips to keeping healthy glowing skin and hair. I should really follow this more myself but I have a few tricks and tips to keeping your skin and hair moisturized and not dry.

My number 1 top secret is coconut oil! Coconut oil is GOD. Everything about it is amazing. I use an organic coconut oil so there's nothing bad about it. Before I go to bed after I wash my face I use CO on my face, on my scalp (not a lot just a thin layer), always make sure you get your neck, elbows, knees, legs after I take a shower! Everywhere! I use the one from Cunningham Farms. It keeps everything set for the winter time!

For my curly, frizzy hair conditioning it is must! I deep condition my hair 2 twice a week. This might mean I have to wake up an extra half hour earlier to do so. Especially since it's cold and I air dry my hair it takes longer to dry. Sometimes I will use the defuser on my hair dryer to make it at least half dry so I don't get sick. But always conditioning your hair will help keep the moisture in and dryness OUT!

My favorite kind lotions always come from The Body Shop! I've been using them for years and I love them. I usually put lotion on before I go to bed and wake up feeling great! I always carry small handbag lotions from Bath and Body Works just in case!

One of my favorite new products that I've been using a lot this winter is the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. I'm sure everyone can agree when I say nails are the hardest to maintain. I always feel like my nail cuticles are peeling but not with this! I put it on every morning after I finish my makeup. I've notice a big difference since!

LIPS LIPS LIPS!!!!!! I can't explain how important keeping your lips moisturized!!!! I keep legit 2 lip glosses, chapsticks, sugar lip scrubs in my purse or jacket at all times during winter! There's nothing worse then talking to someone with chapped lips. I feel like that's all you focus on. DO NOT lick your lips while outside! You don't want Kylie lips that are chapped... My favorites are Vaseline lip therapy (it's tiny and will fit anywhere!), Fresh Sugar Lips (Amazing! But very expensive...I got one last year or the year before for my b-day gift from Sephora! Still have it! A little goes a long way!), Baby Lips by Maybelline, EOS lip balm (if you feel like your lip sphere is dry take a plastic knife or knife and shave off around it. It should make it soft again.), and Burt's Bees!

Keeping your skin healthy and glowy is essential during winter. It's hard to keep up because as humans we get lazy but true not to be lazy this winter! You are going to thank yourself in the end!

Let me know what your favorite products are for winter time! I'm always up for trying new ones!!!

Lots of Love,
Lizzie

Road to the Runway!

Sunday, July 21, 2013

Hello Everyone!!!

So I feel that I do give out a great deal of information on my "real" life. But this is something I just got to share with you dolls! I'm very big on getting inspiration. It's what keeps me going in life. I need to find inspiration to keep going! One thing I'm very passionate about is fashion. As you may or may not know I'm a fashion design major and I'm always looking for connections. I modeled in the 9th grade till the beginning of 11th. I had to stop due to my hips being to big...I gained a significant amount of weight so little that I was on the verge of not getting jobs for modeling. I had a 40 or 39 wide hip when they were only accept 37 to 34 or less...Being a teen at that age I got really upset at myself. I didn't just not want to stop! I loved to model! It's something I want to keep going to see how far I can make it! But as a rebellious teen I just continued to eat rather then follow my dreams...I was never overweight. But I did gain about 15 extra pounds I didn't need. I did a pageant went on a workout and nutrition plan and got back into shape! It was great!!! Until the pageant was over and I didn't place at all...devastation began and I didn't want anything to do with life...little did I know it was just the beginning!
This week I've decided I want to go back to modeling. It's time to take my life in my own hands. Go after my dream! What is it you ask? Well one day I wish to be a Victoria Secret Model! But for right now I want to walk the runway for a major fashion designer!!! Especially Chanel, DSquared2, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Marchesa, Louis Vuitton! The list goes on and on!!

Now... to get to the runway I need to do a few things first!

1. Get fit and heathy!!!! Saying goodbye to sweets for a while and saying Hello to Miss Katie Boyd of The Miss Fit Club! She was my trainer for Miss Ma Teen and now she's going to be my trainer once again! I'm going to be talking to her tuesday to work out my nutrition and workout plan! She works wonders! While I did the pageant I lost alot of inches off my hips and got down to 38! 1 inch off! I want to get down to 36! That's my newest goal before I can go to any casting agents!
2. Working my look! Practice makes perfect! So posing in the mirror and walking in heels are a must. That also means finding a hair color that works best because frankly I want to die my hair all different kinds of colors!!! haha! And making sure my face is free of zit!!!
3. Once I'm ready and set go out to modeling agencies I'll take it from there!!!

For more on my Road to the Runway check back with my everyday!!! I'm going to keeping a diary blog of my travels!! Also my Pinterest Board (HERE) for inspiration!!! Instagram! Twitter! All under the name @ElizzabethHope

Here are some old modeling photos from back in the day!
