How To Keep Your Skin and Hair Beautiful During Winter!

Wednesday, January 28, 2015

Since it is snowing right now and the air is dry I thought I'd give you my secret tips to keeping healthy glowing skin and hair. I should really follow this more myself but I have a few tricks and tips to keeping your skin and hair moisturized and not dry.

My number 1 top secret is coconut oil! Coconut oil is GOD. Everything about it is amazing. I use an organic coconut oil so there's nothing bad about it. Before I go to bed after I wash my face I use CO on my face, on my scalp (not a lot just a thin layer), always make sure you get your neck, elbows, knees, legs after I take a shower! Everywhere! I use the one from Cunningham Farms. It keeps everything set for the winter time!

For my curly, frizzy hair conditioning it is must! I deep condition my hair 2 twice a week. This might mean I have to wake up an extra half hour earlier to do so. Especially since it's cold and I air dry my hair it takes longer to dry. Sometimes I will use the defuser on my hair dryer to make it at least half dry so I don't get sick. But always conditioning your hair will help keep the moisture in and dryness OUT!

My favorite kind lotions always come from The Body Shop! I've been using them for years and I love them. I usually put lotion on before I go to bed and wake up feeling great! I always carry small handbag lotions from Bath and Body Works just in case!

One of my favorite new products that I've been using a lot this winter is the Burt's Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. I'm sure everyone can agree when I say nails are the hardest to maintain. I always feel like my nail cuticles are peeling but not with this! I put it on every morning after I finish my makeup. I've notice a big difference since!

LIPS LIPS LIPS!!!!!! I can't explain how important keeping your lips moisturized!!!! I keep legit 2 lip glosses, chapsticks, sugar lip scrubs in my purse or jacket at all times during winter! There's nothing worse then talking to someone with chapped lips. I feel like that's all you focus on. DO NOT lick your lips while outside! You don't want Kylie lips that are chapped... My favorites are Vaseline lip therapy (it's tiny and will fit anywhere!), Fresh Sugar Lips (Amazing! But very expensive...I got one last year or the year before for my b-day gift from Sephora! Still have it! A little goes a long way!), Baby Lips by Maybelline, EOS lip balm (if you feel like your lip sphere is dry take a plastic knife or knife and shave off around it. It should make it soft again.), and Burt's Bees!

Keeping your skin healthy and glowy is essential during winter. It's hard to keep up because as humans we get lazy but true not to be lazy this winter! You are going to thank yourself in the end!

Let me know what your favorite products are for winter time! I'm always up for trying new ones!!!

Lizzie

Being Single As Told By Carrie Bradshaw.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015

I've watched Sex and the City 1 and a half (rewatching every season again) times by now. By watching it I've learned a thing or two about relationships. Some are spot on and some aren't. But what Carrie explains about friendship and being single is always true. Being single on Valentines Day doesn't always have to be awful! Take it from Carrie Bradshaw. She knows whats up! Here are a few of my favorite quotes by Miss Bradshaw to think about this Valentines Day!!!

Our best friends are actually our soul mates. Friends are forever! Boyfriends are whatever!

Say it with her!!!!

Having the courage to be single makes you stronger than you think!

This one's my favorite. I'll have to remember this. It may come in handy one day.

This quote says it all! Go and buy the shoes!

Even Mr. Big puts his input in!

Whether you agree with Carrie or not she's absolutely true. Your best friends are your soul mates, you can be fabulous and single too, and don't think...always buy the shoes!

Happy Galentines Day!

Looking back at 2014!!

Friday, January 2, 2015

Another day, another year. 2015 will be a good year. This year has come and gone so fast! I don't even know where to start! One of my New Years Resolution is to blog more! Obvi! I want to start taking more outfit of the days and creating a new style for myself. (classic...) But before I start with that...the best moments of 2014! No negative moment! Like the song Let It Go states...The past is in the past!!! LETITGO!!!

1. The #1 BEST MOMENT OF 2014 was being an extra for the TV show Odyssey premiering on April 5th! I'm crossing my fingers that my scene is in the TV show!!! I've been wanting to tell you this since April of this year! 2 days shooting and it was the best time ever! It made me realize how much I want to act and really try to make a name for myself! I was also in The Greens Are Gone an indies film as an extra as well! I'll keep you updated on both!

2. I successfully made my non-textiles outfit! Made of duck tape, bread tabs spray painted black, and mylar balloons.

3. Playing with Lilly! Obvi! She's the best!

4. Even though I didn't go through and study abroad in London I'm happy I went and actually tried. I know a lot of people who didn't go because they thought something was going to happen to them or their family, ect. Although I feel like I've learned so much more about myself then actually staying abroad. I'm happy with my decision and at least I got to visit the Queen and take a telephone booth picture! Now I can cross that off my bucket list!

5. I got to see Iggy Azalea in concert! She's so fancy! And amazing! Although I wish she stayed on stage longer!! But still very cool to see her live!

6.  Dying my hair blonde was a really big part of 2014! I finally went practically full on blonde!!! I love it!!! I dyed it ombre because of London but I'm dying it back in January again! Can't wait!

7. I got to meet Johnny Cupcakes! That was a pretty big deal!!! I was really excited about that one!!! He's so inspiring and really fun!! I've been a fan since forever!!!

8. I turned 20 years old! I'm no longer a teen but always one by heart. Age is but a number ;)
Sassy Pug!

And other things that happened...
-I watched almost every season of Beverly Hills 90210 and LOVED every minute of it until Amazon took it down.......
-I got a new job that I love so much and the people at my job are tots awesome!!!!
-I missed my friends lots while they were away abroad!
-I reached over 3,500 views on one of my videos!!! Woop Woop! Subscribe here! More videos to come!!!!
-I reached over 130k views on my blog! Really big deal! So AMAZING!!!

This year has been filled with happiness, tears, heartbreaks, and new loves. But the past is the past and looking back I didn't do as much as I wanted to. It's almost 2015...time to step it up...they didn't make the term YOLO for nothing!

Lots of Love,
Lizzie
